Bridge Design Workshop

This workshop will consist of several presentations on MnDOT's policies and interpretation of the AASHTO LRFD specifications relating to design of Foundations, Earth Retaining Structures, Abutments, Piers, Walls, Prestressed Elements and Steel Girders. Additional presentations will be given on the topics of Ratings, Quality Management, New MnDOT Bridge Office Standards and Preliminary Bridge Design. The presentations will generally be technical in nature and will be given by MnDOT Bridge Office engineers. A brief question and answer session will follow each presentation.

Upon completion of the workshop, participants will be able to:

• Demonstrate an understanding of MnDOT policies relating to preliminary and final bridge design, quality management, standards and ratings.
