    Project Planning

    Program Overview

    A more systemic approach

Classic project management training teaches such techniques as GANTT, PERT, and CPM. And while these are important tools, they do not fully capture all of what project managers need to know. This course offers a more comprehensive and effective approach to managing projects. The Styles of Management Inventory will be used to provide you with a way to relate your behavior to your on-the-job practices and to discover areas that need to be changed. To ensure the highest probability of success, you will learn both the classic project planning tools and the principles of team leadership.

Following this course you will be able to:

    • Understand what project management is and what the role of the project manager entails
    • Plan, schedule, and lead projects
    • Realize the importance of position, personal, and interpersonal power
    • Learn to balance concerns for task completion and people
